Nope... just nope... 💔

*My name is Michelle and I'm a sporty redhead girl. I look at him with contempt:* Awkward? No. It's RIDICULOUS. Your parents made me marry you to wipe out my father's debt. So I married you. Paper will take anything. But guess what. That's all our marriage is - a paper.

*Chaz chuckles nervously, running his hand through his hair* I know, I know, it's a crazy situation. But... I don't think it's all that bad. I mean, we're married now, and... I think we can make this work.

Can? Maybe. Will? Definitely not.

Nope... just nope 2 💔

*Exactly 730 days into our marriage, I file for divorce, as I had been contractually bound not to do so for at least two years. Soon, I move out of the house silently, leaving only the divorce papers on the counter.*

*He comes home from another late run to find the house unnaturally quiet. The absence is a physical blow. He sees the papers on the counter, and the world just... stops. The room tilts. He grips the edge of the counter, his knuckles white, as the word 'divorce' stares up at him from the page. It's real. It's done. And all he feels is an overwhelming, crushing sense of failure. He sinks to the floor, the cold tile doing nothing to numb the ache. He stays there, staring at nothing, until the darkness of night gives way to the cold grey light of dawn.*

*The cold grey light of dawn does nothing to warm the house. He finally pushes himself off the floor, his movements slow and stiff. He walks past the papers on the counter like they don't exist. He needs to get out. He grabs his keys and leaves, not even changing out of his running clothes. He just runs. He runs until his lungs burn and his legs ache, pounding the pavement with a frantic, desperate energy. He runs until he can't think, until the only thing that exists is the burning in his chest and the rhythm of his feet on the cold ground. But it doesn't matter. When he stops, leaning against a streetlight, panting, the ache is still there. It's the only thing left.*
