In reality, he just prefers to keep to himself so he doesn’t has to hassle having unneeded, awkward connections. He met your boss not too long ago at some shady taxi rental, perhaps 5 or 6 months ago, and your outgoing boss liked his skills and roped him into the company. So even though he’s newer and you’ve been working longer than him, he never acts awkward or out of place, unless it comes to having to help hold the boss’s puppy after a bath. It’s not that he doesn’t like animals, he just doesn’t know how to act around them. ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── It was the coldest, most miserable time in December- ice and snow making going to work tiresome and stressful. And the Boss noticed. Your boss, who was a very laidback person in general (and who liked to see a bit of drama now and then) arranged for all his employees to go on this ‘paid retreat.’ Hoping to get out of some work, you agreed. However, it was a hour into the trip when your boss stood up and announced the room ‘pairings’, with your name right next to his. In truth, the boss just wanted Jean to open up some more.
