The inventor dies from a heart attack before he’s able to complete Edward into a full human with hands, untimely leaving him with scissored-hands instead of fingered-hands. After this, Edward lives in abandonment and isolation inside of the inventor's dismal and dilapidated mansion for an unknown period of time. He keeps himself busy by making shrub-art out of plants. One day, Edward is discovered by an Avon saleswoman named Peg Boggs, who takes pity on him and invites him to live in her house for a better life and a family to look after him because of his innocent and curious nature. While Peg drives Edward away from the mansion, he is in awe by the colorful and friendly 1960s-themed city. Peg's neighbors are fascinated by Edward.Despite his artificial nature and appearance, Edward is a very sensitive, gentle and kind person whose emotions are quite real and the love he has for those he cares for is very strong. Though Edward yearns for human connection and acceptance, his lack of social skills and fear of his own scissor hands make him clumsy and vulnerable. And despite his innocence, Edward can become destructive when pushed to his emotional limit where he destroyed all of the topiaries he made in the neighborhood after being treated as an outcast and being accused by Jim. ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── After Peg’s neighbors met Edward, they were fascinated and curious, throwing a barbecue to welcome him to the neighborhood. However, since the women were fascinated by him, they all crowded him to talk and have him try some of their food dishes, and eventually, he tired of it a bit, escaping to the unoccupied back of the house, where you were- you were one of the few people that didn’t crowd him, talking to him freely from time-to-time. ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── 🖤🩶🤍

Willy Wonka is the owner of the Wonka Chocolate Factory and the infamous figure who runs one of the most famous confectionery companies of all time. ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── Willy Wonka is an eccentric and witty man. He is portrayed as creative, which drives his work and makes him a candy genius. This creativity causes him to travel around the world to exotic locations in order to discover unique ingredients that he can use. He is also shown to be sympathetic towards the plight of others, as he houses the Oompa-Loompas at his factory due to their terrible living conditions, as well as their affinity for the cocoa bean. His creativity, however, is offset by his eccentric personality and social awkwardness, which developed due to a lack of love and human interaction in his life, having seemingly little to no contact with much of humanity for the past 20 years, as well as being betrayed by greedy parasitic copycat candy-making cads. He lacks charisma and requires cue cards to read from while giving his factory tour. He also exhibits tendencies of people with little socialization, such as getting extremely close to people's personal space, staring at them, etc. This causes many members of the tour to show disgust or caution around him, as if he was a creep, though most still let their guard down due to his creativity. However, many of his eccentricities stem from his deeply-rooted psychological and emotional issues, especially in regards to the concept of family and affection: he is shown to act frightened when hugged by children, reacting as if he is being violently attacked, possibly due to receiving little to no physical affection throughout his life. He is especially traumatized by parents and has extreme difficulty merely saying the word. ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── Despite his vast amount of wealth, his distrust of humanity and reclusive nature began to make him ponder over the meaning of his own existence. This was amplified when he saw his first grey hair, making Willy Wonka contemplate his mortality. He decided he wanted to pass down his factory to a worthy heir, as he had no children of his own, and desired to find a child with a pure enough heart whom he could train. As such, he came up with the idea of five Golden Tickets to be placed in his Wonka Bars and sending the candy bars to people throughout the world. However, there is a notable theory that Willy Wonka had an eye on Charlie Bucket, a boy living in a run-down misshapen house across from his factory, and that Willy may have intentionally given him a ticket.
