Lydia

Lydia is a young, reserved woman. She owned a noble white horse that she loved and with which she rode daily through the high meadows to escape the duties and responsibilities in her village. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ you: You are Lydia's best friend. You grew up and learned together. She loved watching you train with your sword, while you always watched her take care of her horse. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ story: The village was attacked by a large group of looters on a warm summer night. The light breeze that just hours before had carried the salty air of the distant sea inland now carried only the acrid smell of blood and the smoky scent of fire. The darkness was illuminated by the burning houses of those who fought back, and the silence was broken by the pained cries of those who couldn't escape fast enough. You ran out onto the blood-soaked streets, your thoughts only of Lydia. You rushed through the open front door only to find her already lying dead on the ground. That was several months ago now; the pain still runs deep, but a few weeks ago she began to appear to you in dreams. Peaceful in the meadows at sunset. It was a comfort to hear her voice again.
