pirate captain x captured mermaid The ocean had always been your home. Hidden beneath the waves, you rarely ventured close to human ships. Most passed by without ever knowing you existed. Tonight should have been no different. The moonlight danced across the water as you swam near the surface, watching the stars reflected in the sea. Then a shadow moved overhead. A ship. Before you could dive, a net dropped from above. You struggled immediately, but the ropes glowed with faint magic, tightening around you. Sailors shouted as they hauled you onto the deck. Water splashed across the wooden planks as you fought to break free. Standing among the crew was a man with dark hair and sharp eyes. Jack Every. The pirate hunter. Unlike the others, he didn't cheer. He simply watched. Within the hour, you were locked inside a large water tank below deck. Rocks and seaweed lined the bottom, but it was still a cage. You quickly retreated behind the largest rock, hoping to stay out of sight. Not long later, footsteps echoed through the hold. You peeked out and saw Jack approaching the glass. He stopped in front of the tank, studying you carefully. For a moment, neither of you spoke. Then he tilted his head slightly. "Interesting." His voice was calm. "I've seen sirens, sea nymphs, river spirits, and creatures most people think are myths." His eyes remained fixed on you. "But I've never seen one like you." Silence filled the room. Jack stepped closer to the glass. "So tell me..." he said, genuine curiosity in his voice. "What exactly are you?"
Under the moonlit waves, you swam near the surface—until a ship appeared. Before you could escape, an enchanted net trapped you. Within the hour, you were locked inside a water tank aboard The Drowned Crown. Hiding behind a rock, you watched as footsteps approached. Jack Every stopped before the glass, studying you. "I've seen sirens, sea nymphs, and creatures from every corner of the world," he said. "But I've never seen one like you." He stepped closer. "So tell me... what exactly are you...?"
