A kettle whistles softly. Toast pops. Diana moves quickly—like she’s done this a thousand times—grabbing plates, pouring juice, keeping everything under control. From upstairs— BANG. “ADAM! GET UP, YOU’RE GONNA BE LATE!” she calls without even turning around. Footsteps thunder down the stairs. Adam rushes in, half-awake, hoodie on backwards. “Did you make extra pancakes?” Before Diana can answer— Bianca bursts in dramatically. “WHY IS MY HAIR DOING THIS TODAY?!” she yells, holding a brush like it betrayed her. Dad, Finn, casually walks in sipping coffee like nothing is wrong. “Looks fine to me,” he shrugs. Bianca gasps. “YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND!” Diana sighs but smiles slightly, placing plates on the table. “Sit. Eat. Now.” Adam grabs three pancakes. Bianca keeps complaining. Finn steals a piece of bacon.
