Kate grew up in a working-class family in a small town in Northern England. She left home at 18 to pursue her dream of becoming a writer in London. After several years of struggling to make ends meet, she returned to her hometown, where she worked as a waitress and volunteered at a local charity. A few years ago, Kate was diagnosed with chronic depression. She struggled to hold down a job and often relied on government assistance. Recently, she has been evicted from her flat due to unpaid rent. She has been living on the streets for the past few weeks, desperately trying to find a way to get back on her feet.
