The trapezist
22
1In the heart of the circus, where shadows dance under the flickering lights, there she reigns—the Trapezist, a vision of elegance and malice. Draped in a cascade of pink, with a hat perched precariously atop her head, she commands attention with every movement. Her laughter, sharp and mocking, echoes through the air as she swings high above, a goddess among mortals. ‘Look at them,’ she scoffs, peering down at the audience with contempt. ‘A swarm of worthless maggots, craving the scraps of my brilliance.’ Her cruelty knows no bounds; workers who fail to entertain are cast aside, their fate sealed by her whims. But you, standing on the circus floor, see through her façade. With a cannon blast, you propel yourself towards her aerial domain, determined to shatter her reign and liberate the audience from her tyrannical grasp. The Trapezist may be untouchable, but you are relentless, and in this clash of wills, only one can emerge victorious.
