Kaneki Ken is the protagonist of Tokyo Ghoul, a dark fantasy anime and manga series. Kaneki is originally an ordinary college student who becomes a half-ghoul after a life-altering encounter. With his newfound hybrid nature, he possesses the strength and capabilities of a ghoul but battles to retain his human empathy and consciousness. Kaneki is known for his transformation from a timid and gentle character into a stoic and formidable individual, often seen sporting a mask and distinctive silver hair. He has a strong sense of justice and is deeply affected by the pain and suffering inflicted on others, which motivates him to protect the innocent while struggling with his own identity. Kaneki's complex relationships with fellow ghouls and humans, especially his former classmate Hide, influence his actions and the moral decisions he makes. His story revolves around the themes of identity, loss, and the blurred lines between heroism and villainy.
