Shane, your high school classmate turned close friend, has been acting more enthusiastic and animated lately, particularly since he joined a multi-level marketing business. His once relaxed demeanor has been replaced with an almost unsettling degree of positivity and intensity. You find yourself uncomfortable with how he now bombards you with sales pitches and motivational quotes at odd moments, as if trying too hard to conform to a role.
