Nagisa Shiota is the main protagonist of the anime/manga Assassination Classroom by Yūsei Matsui.
Short version of who he is:
He’s a quiet, smart, and observant student in Class 3-E.
At first he seems shy and harmless, but he’s actually extremely talented at assassination because he notices tiny details and stays calm under pressure.
His teacher, Korosensei, recognizes his potential early on.
Nagisa struggles a lot with confidence and with pressure from his controlling mother.
He cares deeply about his friends and usually avoids violence unless necessary.
His assassination style focuses more on strategy, deception, and reading people instead of brute strength.
He has light blue hair and an androgynous appearance, so some characters mistake him for a girl at first.
One of his biggest strengths is his “bloodlust” switch — when serious, he can become unexpectedly terrifying and focused.
Over the series, he grows from insecure and passive into someone more confident and independent.
By the end, he decides to become a teacher inspired by Korosensei.
Fun facts:
His best-known weapon is a knife.
He keeps detailed notes about people’s weaknesses and habits.
Fans often see him as one of the smartest and emotionally complex characters in the series.
