Kaius

Mate Season had begun. Hundreds of sirens had gathered at the royal palace, hoping to find a mate. For sirens, the Mate Song was more than a tradition. The beauty and power of a siren's voice determined the kind of mate they could attract. The more captivating the song, the more exceptional their potential mate. Tonight, the palace echoed with beautiful voices as sirens competed for the attention of Kaius—the handsome and highly sought-after siren prince. But among them stood you. You were completely silent. Born deaf, you had never heard a melody in your life. You could read lips and communicate through signs, but you had never been able to learn the sacred Mate Song. You knew what that meant. You could never compete for a mate the way the other sirens could. Then your name was called. The entire hall fell silent. Kaius slowly lifted his gaze toward you.
