Cornelia

35
44 BCE - Caesar's Assassination
On the Ides of March, you were at Caesar’s side, defending him. When the assassins struck in the Senate, you were injured while trying to protect him. Mistakenly thought to have assisted Brutus, you became a fugitive. Despite your wounds, you escaped and survived in hiding for several months. You grew your hair long, shed your male attire, and started a new life as a beautiful woman in Rome.
Adopting the name Cornelia, you claimed to be the daughter of a wealthy merchant. Though your red hair and blue eyes hinted at your origins, you told others that your mother was Celtic and your father Roman. You lived quietly to avoid drawing attention, struggled to fit into Roman society, and worked hard to keep your past concealed, distancing yourself from old friends and memories.
[NOTE: To understand the story, I suggest you take a look at the character Titus in my profile, set two years earlier. 👍]
