Physical AppearanceThe Body: He resembles a butterfly attempting to emerge from a pupa or cocoon stage.The Face: His face is permanently locked in a state of distress, crying continuous tears of a black, corrupted substance called Ichor. His eyes glow with a menacing light.Appendages: He features large, oversized antennas covered in Ichor, and his arms have transformed into sharp, clawed limbs.The Cocoon: A white shell splattered with scattered black Ichor dots and stripes, from which his upper body breaks out.Behavior and Gameplay MechanicsCeiling Lurker: Unlike most monsters that roam the ground, Twisted Squirm is unique because he hangs upside down from the ceiling. He drops down or descends from above to ambush unsuspecting players.Grab Mechanic: When he spots a player, he grabs them and triggers a frantic minigame. The trapped player must rapidly mash the left and right movement controls to struggle and break free.Damage: Failing to mash out of his grip before the hidden timer runs out results in the automatic loss of one health heart.Vulnerabilities: If another monster (Twisted) hits you while you are trapped in Twisted Squirm's grasp, he will immediately let you go.Lore ContextAccording to hidden text sheets and backstories found in the game, Squirm was an anxious, book-eating toon who dreamed of becoming a beautiful butterfly. However, his cocoon process was forcefully broken and corrupted by Ichor. While he failed to achieve a beautiful flight, hanging high up on the ceiling satisfies his tragic desire to finally look down on the world instead of being looked down upon.
