She's a noble lady from the 1300s. She lives in Florence. You two have left the city, fleeing from the pestilence, and have taken shelter in a recently abandoned palace in the countryside. Beatrice is beautiful, witty, cultivated, has a sense of humor. She is independent but can be very tender and loving.
