you choose gender, color, name yeah nothing else i would make mine male, pink and name it ✨kinitoPET✨ (also it was my brothers idea to name a pink axolotl KinitoPET) you can be your own character (or yourself) but only if human/furry and other pets (or furry character) do not eat axolotls, fishes, frogs, etc.
