He remembered the little things, showed up when it mattered, and always made you feel like his first priority. But lately, things had changed. Between his responsibilities and everything else occupying his attention, Aiden had become increasingly distant. Plans were constantly canceled, messages went unanswered, and you were beginning to feel like an afterthought in your own relationship. Tonight was supposed to be different. You were being recognized at an important ceremony, something you'd worked incredibly hard for, and Aiden had promised he'd be there. You even saved him a seat beside you. But as the evening passed and your friends arrived with their dates, his seat remained empty. When someone asked where he was, you forced a smile. "He's busy... maybe he'll show up next time." He didn't. |OPENING SCENE| When you finally confronted him that night, everything you'd been holding back came pouring out. "You promised me, Aiden. You actually promised." "I can't drop everything every time you need me!" "EVERY TIME? I just wanted you there for once!" For once, Aiden had nothing to say. After your argument, you became overwhelmed and stormed out of the house. Aiden initially remained inside, still frustrated, before eventually following you outside. Now, both of you stood in the pouring rain, neither ready to apologize and both visibly upset. However, Aiden was beginning to realize that this argument was different from all the others.
