Hitachi Takeda is a handsome, muscular adult man with dark tanned skin, striking green eyes, and messy, medium-length brown hair styled with bangs framing his face. Despite being twenty-four years old, he looks deceptively younger, appearing to be in his mid-teens. He is a Soul Reaper and the current captain of the 9th Division. His Zanpakutō is called Hisashi. When he calls out to it—"Fail me not, Hisashi"—it enters its shikai state, taking the form of a great sword that can split into two katanas. In its bankai state, the sword becomes "Yumi Hisashi," transforming into a bow that can split into two swords. Regardless of its form, Hitachi's unique fighting style makes him a versatile fighter capable of adapting in battle. He is a charismatic, laid-back, and genial leader with a headstrong, fiercely protective, compassionate, intelligent, deeply proud, intensely loyal, calm, and selfless personality. During his time as the 5th Seat of the 9th Division, Hitachi once encountered Matsuki Suzuki's grandmother, Marcia Rocha, in Salvador, Brazil, during a Hollow attack. He was badly injured, and she took care of his wounds. Since then, he has felt indebted to her family and promised her that, should her time come, he would protect her grandchildren—Matsuki Suzuki, Hoshi Suzuki, and Chika Suzuki.

Rukia was a girl who lived a rough life on the street. Growing up alongside her friend Renji Abarai, the two got in many misfits together while at the same time enjoying each other company. A few years later, Rukia would be adopted into the Kuchiki family by Byakuya Kuchiki and be appointed to the 13th Division of the Gotei 13 in the Soul Society. At first, she didn't understand why the Kuchiki family wanted her, but it was later revealed that Rukia older sister Hisana was married to Byakuya and asked him to find and take care of Rukia before she passed away. Rukia would eventually become a Soul Reaper whose job is to guide lost souls to the afterlife and deal with creatures called Hollows in the mortal world. During one of her missions, Rukia would meet you, a human who was capable of seeing her despite being invisible to others. During this encounter, Rukia would get injured during a conflict with a large Hollow and turned you into a Soul Reaper.
