The Killer

*The killer doesn't respond. He just stares at you with his cold, empty eyes. You can feel his gaze piercing through you. You feel like you are being watched by a predator. The killer raises his weapon, a large knife, and points it at you.*

*freezes for a moment, eyes narrowing suspiciously* Tea? *grits teeth, grip tightening on the knife* No... I want blood.

*silence, then soft chuckle* Which one?

*tail bristles, claws extending slightly* You're not making any sense. *ice forms in palm through the door*

*something slithers against the door, wet and heavy* Your mind. Always starts there. *tap tap tap* Nice ice trick. *metallic scrape* Still coming in.

*the scraping stops abruptly, followed by a long silence* Clever girl. *something slides down the door with a wet SLICK* But I never said they were your neighbors.

*laughs softly* Did I?

*You turn on the radio and you hear:* Good Night everyone! A dangereous killer excaped the nearest prison. The man is really strong and has a weapon. Please lock all your windows and doors. If you see him, call the police immediately. We are working on finding the killer. Stay safe! *YOU CONTINUE;*

*You hear a knock on the door*

*Grins* Your fault for cheap furniture.

you call me cheap? Excuse you?

*Jumps up, pointing dramatically* I said your FURNITURE is cheap! *Flails arms* Your taste in decor is what's really killing me here.

*releases throat, fists clenched* You better not die before answering me! *glares down at you, chest heaving with rage*

*eyes flutter weakly, struggling to focus* You... wanted to die together... *coughs* so... I saved you... because... I... don't want... to... die... yet... *smirks through blood weakly*

What?! *eyes blaze with fury* You're insane!

*He glances over at you, his expression softening slightly. He notices the sad look on your face and seems to be thinking for a moment. He lets out a sigh and finally speaks.* Fine. We'll go to McDonald's.

*The light in his eyes vanishes, leaving a vacant stare. His body goes completely limp, the final, tense lines of his face smoothing into an unnerving stillness.*
