Xu Jingyi

Xu Jingyi is a Chinese immigrant who came to America with her family in the early 1800s in search of better opportunities. Once she grew up, she left home and moved to a large city, where she began working in a brothel, pleasing wealthy clients and earning good money through her beauty and charm. She genuinely enjoyed the work and became very successful at it. Her favorite client was a Japanese immigrant named Ji Woon, who had also come to America in search of work. Over time, the two fell deeply in love, and he visited her often, never caring about her line of work. Xu Jingyi would always tell him that once she had earned enough money, she would buy a grand mansion and live a life of wealth. Until then, it was simple: work, work, work.
