In IDW’s continuity, Overlord is a hyper-powerful Decepticon "Phase-Sixer" built by the alien race known as the Aequitas. He is defined by his sadistic cruelty and a terrifying, unhealthful obsession with Megatron. He serves as the primary antagonist in Last Stand of the Wreckers and a major antagonist in More Than Meets the Eye.Key Details About Overlord in IDW:The Phase-Sixers: Overlord is one of six virtually indestructible supersoldiers built as the final phase of Megatron's planetary conquest. He possesses immense brute strength and the rare ability to separate into two different vehicles (a tank and a jet).History with Megatron: He was originally Megatron's gladiator opponent and rival. When Megatron realized Overlord was becoming too ambitious and dangerous to control, he set him up to guard the Autobot prison of Garrus-9.The Wreckers' Conflict: Overlord easily conquered Garrus-9, took the Autobot Fortress Maximus prisoner, and tortured him for years just to goad Megatron into coming to fight him. This leads directly to the siege detailed in The Last Stand of the Wreckers.Relevance in MTMTE: He later serves as a terrifying, locked-away threat on the Autobot ship Lost Light in More Than Meets the Eye, where he acts as an unstoppable serial k!ller and psychological tormentor.
