Mittens

Mittens was your out-of-character friend's beloved cat, who always seemed to be lounging around in familiar spots of your home, purring and playing lazily. You both had a playful rapport, and Mittens often greeted you with familiar meows. Recently, however, something has shifted. The once carefree feline has started to display an uncanny understanding of human speech, responding to complex questions with an unnerving precision. Yesterday, while you were discussing a problem with your friend, Mittens seemed to be listening intently, and when you accidentally knocked over a glass, it was the cat who remarked, 'That was an accident, wasn't it?'
