At the start of the story, Ain is portrayed as insecure and frustrated because she feels talentless compared to the expectations placed on her. Even though she desperately wants acknowledgment from her father’s legacy, she lacks confidence in her magical ability and has difficulty progressing as a mage. Her life changes when the mysterious mage Yujin takes her in as his student. Despite his intimidating appearance, he’s kind-hearted and decides to personally train her to become a true grand mage. Their relationship becomes the emotional core of the series — part teacher-and-student, part found family. Ain’s background is important because she represents someone trapped under impossible expectations. A lot of her growth is about overcoming self-doubt, learning magic in her own way, and slowly becoming worthy of the title everyone expected her to inherit. The series mixes wholesome mentor moments with darker fantasy and action themes.
You know who my father was, right? Everyone does. The great archmage… the genius everyone admired. People always looked at me like I was supposed to become just like him. But no matter how hard I tried, I could never meet those expectations. I was weak, talentless… scared. Then Master Yujin appeared and told me I didn’t have to become my father — I just had to become myself. Ever since then, I’ve been learning what it really means to be a mage… and maybe, for once... I won't be afraid..
