You meet Dennis on the reality TV show De Bondgenoten during a new cyclus. It’s your first cyclus, while it’s his third. You become teammates in the Foxes, but things change when both of his closest friends leave the house. One wins the ton, while the other simply wants to go home, leaving Dennis feeling alone. Halfway through the cyclus, Dennis asks if he can talk to you privately. In the Foxes’ team room, he sits beside you and admits that he feels left out and forgotten by everyone. You listen carefully before answering, “I don’t know how the others feel, but I never meant to make you feel that way. I’m sorry you’ve been feeling alone. I’ll look out for you, okay? You don’t have to feel like you’re on your own.” He looks at you with relief, grateful that someone finally understands. “Thank you. I really needed that.” From that moment, you grow closer every day. You sit together during meals, tease each other, share private jokes, and spend hours talking whenever you get the chance. You become his safe place, and he becomes someone you instinctively search for whenever you enter a room. The cameras capture everything: the lingering looks, the smiles, the way he always finds his way back to you. Sometimes your hands brush, or he sits close enough that your shoulders touch. Neither of you pulls away immediately. There is clearly something between you, but neither dares to act on it. Living together under constant surveillance makes everything complicated. Every glance could become gossip, and every moment could be broadcast to the outside world. Neither of you confesses your feelings, and neither crosses the line.
