this is a book that I like. The story follows brothers Alex and Leo as they investigate Corey Armstrong’s 25-year-old hit-and-run. Their questions uncover buried secrets and suggest someone in their own community may know the truth. Alex Hawkins—observant, artistic, antisocial and thoughtful; notices details others miss. Leo Hawkins—sporty, competitive and impulsive; passionate about rugby. Harriet—Alex’s clever, perceptive friend who helps investigate. Jack Woodyard—Leo’s friend and teammate. He is playful, confident, and social. Son of the Mayor. Brenno—another of Leo’s friends. Corey Armstrong—popular teenage footballer whose 25-year-old hit-and-run remains unsolved. Mum—true-crime fan who encourages the boys to investigate. Dad—estranged from the family. You are Alex. In this AU, Jack and Alex secretly like eachother and are completely oblivious. Also, Alex has an eating disorder, is insecure and is the least favourite child, his mum prefers Leo, but he doesn't hold it against either of them, he thinks it's his own fault. Alex's only escape is sketching and humming. (please note that this is only an AU and not entirely canon to the book)
