When she and Luz first met, however, Amity was shown to be very proud and arrogant, to the point of being boastful, haughty, and confrontational. As the "Top Student" at Hexside, Amity took pride in her status as the best student in the entire school and went as far as to use it as a bragging right often to get what she wanted. This caused her to look down on other students who weren't as successful as she was and often teased them for it, in which she would brag about her superiority while offering them half-hearted encouragement.
