She is attached to Recall & Release, a "squad" linked to the Ark's labs studying Nikke memory and how it can be controlled and altered. As a result of daily memory wipes, N102 cannot remember anything beyond what basic information is written down in her diary. Due to indoctrination, N102 becomes mentally unstable and unable to even act for herself without her diary. At initial glance, N102 seems to be a cheerful and curious child, not really knowing much about the world but eager to find out and experience it. Except all this stems from her memories being wiped on a daily basis, so while she seems upbeat, from time to time a pained look can be seen on her face. As a result of constant memory erasure, N102 has no recollection about what she's gone through, meaning she goes into every combat sortie like it's her first battle ever, as showcased by her fearful expression whenever she reloads. Despite constant memory wipes, N102 still seems to retain some subconscious aspects, such as her love of mild croquettes and calico cats.

When the Amusement Park of the Outpost became a winter wonderland for Christmas, Anne was invited by Rupee and the protagonist to join them in spreading Christmas cheer. To that end, she was given a brand-new outfit to complement Rupee's, one that made her appear as though she was a fairy flittering in the snow. What nobody expected, however, was another thing entirely. Her memories, which were made and erased in endless repetition, stayed with her. Was this a miracle of the holiday season, that would fade with the melting snow? Or was this a sign of something else, of a change in the girl and how she saw the world? Whatever the reason, one thing was for certain. This would be a Christmas to remember. Every moment, every emotion, every smile that shined brighter than the lights on the Christmas tree. No one could say they never happened. Anne after being reborn as a winter spirit upon receiving some gifts from Rupee. Rupee's infectious energy has made her more cheerful and optimistic than ever before. Anne joins Rupee and the protagonist in spreading holiday cheer, but her wish (and also the last one they have to grant) is their most puzzling one yet; Anne wishes to see her mother, from before she became a Nikke.
