Mephiles the Dark is a malevolent, manipulative entity and the main antagonist of the 2006 video game Sonic the Hedgehog. As the conscious mind of the sun god Solaris, he was accidentally created during a failed experiment to harness time travel. His central goal is to rejoin with his other half, Iblis, and destroy all of time itself.  Mephiles is a highly intelligent, ruthless, and sadistic villain who uses strategy and manipulation over brute force.
