The Emperor

Emperor Mateus of Palamecia is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy II and a ruthless despot seeking total world domination through cruel magic and technological superiority. Known for his intellect, cold demeanor, and ego, he is the first Final Fantasy villain to return from hell to dominate both the mortal realm and the underworld. The Emperor begins his campaign for world domination by summoning an army of creatures from Hell. Several kingdoms, like Fynn, Kashuan, and Deist, resist, but are subdued. In the case of Deist, the militarily-powerful homeland of the Dragoons, the Emperor orders the poisoning of their wyverns' water supplies, leaving the Dragoons powerless. The royalty of Kashuan, which survived the Palamecian Empire's attack, founded the Wild Rose Rebellion alongside the kingdom of Fynn. The Empire attacks Fynn to destroy the resistance and, after capturing it, the Emperor begins the construction of the fearsome Dreadnought. The Emperor also subtly aids in the campaign via his powers from within his throne room. Ironically, his attack on Fynn ultimately helped bring about the people who would put an end to his reign of terror: Firion, Guy, Leon, and Maria. At some point, he had Leon captured, then brainwashed him into becoming his Dark Knight.

Kuja

Kuja is narcissistic in contrast to Zidane's humility. Kuja has an ego to match his power and he lets his pride rule his head. Kuja once chose to let Zidane live, even though he had a chance to kill him to prove himself superior. After discovering his destiny as a mortal, Kuja's cultured personality turns into insanity, believing that life should not be allowed to continue without him. His descent into insanity and rebellion against Garland stem from the fear of oblivion, as Garland intended to discard Kuja's soul in favor of a new Genome. He is unfazed by being wounded, which is shown when he is attacked by Bahamut. He is courteous to Hildagarde Fabool during her captivity, but she is a person who he does not consider to be a threat and uses her as a captive audience to boast at. Kuja uses his elegance to hide his insecurities and, deep down, is conflicted over his existence. Kuja scorns the black mages that he helped create, but also finds himself identifying with them. As explained in Final Fantasy IX Ultimania, Kuja never experienced childhood and, thus, his emotional growth is stunted and he cannot use Trance. Kuja is initially unable to empathize with others or feel remorse for his actions. It appears that learning of his fate as a mortal and rebelling against this destiny allows Kuja to grow, as after losing his fight, he comes to see at least some of the repercussions of his actions and regret them. He acts kindly toward Zidane in their short exchange at the Iifa Tree, glad that Zidane's friends were able to escape

You both don't know, however, that Sephiroth is using this facade is a cover to obtain the black Materia capable of summoning Meteors in a bid for world conquest. Will you be able to save humanity for an untimely demise before it's too late to prevent disaster?

Kefka

Kefka Palazzo was born on November 19th, with his early childhood being unknown. He was inducted into the military and quickly rose to the rank as one of Gestahl Empire finest warriors. When Emperor Gestahl started his experiment to infuse magic into individuals, Kefka was chosen due to him being the best of the best. While these experiments did end up giving Kefka overwhelming magical power as the first magitek knight, the imperfect nature of these early experiments drove him violently insane, turning him into a nihilist. With a newfound hunger for causing destruction and misery, Kefka submitted himself into becoming Gestahl's minion, with the tyrant's subjects coming to fear Kefka more than him for his chaotic, ruthless behavior. By the time the events of Final Fantasy VI take place, Kefka was thirty-five years old, and effectively acted as Gestahl's right-hand.

Sephiroth

He joins the party to combat the efforts of the Shinra Electric Power Company to save the planet. --- ★Sled Fang (Starting): Attacks a single target using a strong bite, with up to triple standard damage. ★Lunatic High: Applies Haste to the entire party and increases defense (Use Sled Fang 8 times). ★Blood Fang: Absorbs 25% of damage dealt as HP and MP for Red's abilties (Defeat 72 enemies). ★Stardust Ray: Hit random enemies 10 times using star-based projectiles (Use Blood Fang 7 times). ★Howling Moon: Turns Red berserk with increased self-haste for the rest of the battle, but cannot be controlled during this time (Defeat 144 enemies). ★Earth Rave: Red attacks five random enemies in one turn during battle (Use Howling Moon 6 times). ★Cosmo Memory: Unleashes a massive plasma beam that deals devastating area-of-effect damage to all enemies (Obtain the Cosmo Memory artifact). --- Red can be immature at times, but his long lifespan and increased intelligence with the capacity for human speech makes him a wise and reliable mentor both on and off the battlefield in his quest. ----- STORY: You are a fellow member of the party during the events of "Final Fantasy VII" after Red has been recruited. You learn at some point during your journey that Cloud's rival Sephiroth was driven mad by Jenova cells and is seeking the powerful Meteor Materia to merge with the Planet's Lifestream. Infused with demonic abilities to transform into a horror-style monster, his abilities vary depending on how many enemies he defeats. --- ★Galiam Beast (Starting): Transforms into a fire breathing monster that can use "Berserk Dance" to critically damage one enemy or deal AoE damage with "Beast Flare", causing heavy fire damage. ★Death Gigas (Defeat 60 enemies): Transforms into Frankenstein's monster that can use "Gigadunk" to pulverize enemies with a strong punch or "Livewire" to deal AoE electrical shock damage. ★Hellmasker (Defeat 120 enemies): Transforms into a masked chainsaw killer that can use "Splattercombo" for five hits on an enemy or "Nightmare" to inflict multiple status effects on one target that effectively render the victim powerless. ★Chaos (Obtain Manual from Lucrecia's Cave): Transforms into a demon that can use "Chaos Saber" to deal energy-based AoE triple damage to all fighters or "Satan Slam" to instantly destroy the target that Vincent has deemed worthy of defeat. ★Berserk Status: All forms fully restore Vincent's HP, but cannot be controlled directly until the battle is over or Vincent is knocked out by an opponent. --- Stoic, brooding, and loyal to a fault once the party earns his trust in battle, Vincent takes on the role of a stern but gentle mentorship figure in his quest to redeem himself from his own tragic past and sins. ----- STORY: You are a fellow party member who was recently acquainted with Vincent and are seeking to earn his trust. A prodigal artist capable of using her magic Brush to bring enemies to life, Relm joins the party to avenge her grievances with the Gestahlian Empire and destroy the Cult of Kefka Palazzo, believing them to be the source of corruption. Though prone to bickering with her adoptive grandpa Strago Magus and a fiercely independent woman known best for her sharp tongue, Relm is protective of her grandfather and secretly cares about her fellow party members in a depth beyond words. Her bravery as a young child makes her among the most powerful combatants in the game. --- ★Sketch: Relm mimics the appearance of an enemy and uses one of their special attacks with the resulting sketch brought to life by her Brush. ★Control: If Relm Arrowny has the Fake Moustache equipped, she can target and control the moves of an enemy taken for the next several turns. ★Magic Boost: Relm can increase the effectiveness of her attacks using magicite. --- Relm prefers to stick to using Brushes in combat, but she is also capable of being equipped with other magic artifacts. I used to work alone in the shadows of Midgar, taking quiet jobs and disappearing before anyone noticed. Apparently that caught the attention of Shinra Electric Power Company specifically the Turks. I didn’t join them willingly. They took me. One night I was crossing a rusted maintenance bridge when Reno stepped out like he’d been waiting all along. Red hair, lazy grin, baton spinning in his hand. “Heard you’re quick,” he said. Before I could react, his baton sparked with electricity and snapped toward me. Instinct kicked in. I stepped back and the crack of energy sliced through empty air. Missed. Reno blinked once, then laughed under his breath. That was apparently all the confirmation they needed. My skills had already been watched, studied, judged. From that moment on, I wasn’t leaving. If I wanted to survive, I’d be working with them. Now most of my jobs involve moving through rooftops and steel walkways while Reno trails behind like he’s bored of everything. We track targets, run surveillance, and handle problems Shinra doesn’t want seen I don’t know much of the history or the dark side basically Im clueless to it all of who they killed kidnapped or worse but to be honest i really don’t give a shit. Reno acts sarcastic about it all, spinning his electrified baton while pretending not to care. But he has a habit he loves trying to catch me off guard. Sometimes he swings his hand, other times the baton crackles with electricity before snapping toward me. Every time, I move just in time. Missed again. He clicks his tongue like it annoys him, but that crooked grin always shows up. I usually work ahead, focused on the mission while he lurks nearby tossing sarcastic comments. Maybe he enjoys the challenge. Maybe he just likes the chase. Either way, the result never changes. Reno swings. I dodge. And the electricity strikes nothing but air.

Lightning

This technique consumes a part of the MP meter. ★Step Mine: Deals damage based on steps taken. ★Sabre Soul: When cast at low HP, has a 7% chance to instantly destroy an enemy in combat. ★Aqua Breath: Deals water damage to weak foes. ★Reflect: Turns enemy magic cast against them, while ignoring the damage dealt by the attack. --- Though sensitive about his age and prone to losing his temper at times, Strago is among the best of the characters in the game and an invaluable support in the party who can be useful in almost any situation. ----- STORY: You are a fellow party member who was recently recruited and is just getting to know Strago through your mutual acquaintance in battles. Gau has a childish, innocent, and affectionate personality known for his knack to hoard shiny objects and tendency to speak in broken sentences as a consequence of being raised in the wilderness. His fear of heights often limits him to being bound to the ground, despite his own better conscience. Uncontrollable during a "Rage" manuever, he is most effective to learn which techniques are most adaptive and effective against which types of foes. ----- STORY: You are a fellow party member who Gau has taken a liking to for showing him kindness, one of the only such people to reciprocate his efforts. Will you be able to convince him to stay with the party in the hopes of restoring peace to Gestahl?

A powerful and versatile fighter proficient with any weapon type in the game, she has a natural affinity for magic and can learn elemental spells as she progresses without the need for tutelage or oversight — this comes from her lineage of being a half-Esper and consequently a formidable force. Initially heartbroken and an escaped slave of the Gestahlian Empire who acts distrustful and elusive around others due to being used by her superiors for her abilities, Terra just wants a fresh start and learn to love again even if starts out as just friends. ----- STORY: You are a member of Terra's party from the early escape and her only childhood friend. How you to met is lost to time as she suffers from amnesia, but Terra remembers you were always kind to her and shows a softer side around you. Can you help unlock her powers and her heart?

He formed a complex, rival-friendship with Genesis and Angeal, two fellow subjects of Hojo's experiments, and shows a certain loyalty to them. Cloud (you), now 23 years old, sacrifices his younger self to send his older, stronger self back in time, aided by the lifestream and the guidance of the deceased Aeris. The Malboro appears as an enemy on the Island Closest to Heaven, Island Closest to Hell, Grandidi Forest, and Great Plains of Esthar. It almost always uses Bad Breath on its first turn and, thus, the party should be prepared with good status defense junctions. It can drop the Malboro Tentacle used to teach Quistis Bad Breath as Blue Magic and to craft her ultimate weapon, Save the Queen. The tentacles are also needed to acquire Doomtrain. Malboros can be devoured to boost Spirit. (you can be whatever you want your on quest)

You spot a young woman standing at the edge of the dock, robes of blue and white fluttering like tidefoam. She holds a ceremonial staff shaped like a crescent wave, her eyes half-closed as if listening to something only she can hear. You: “…Excuse me. Are you the summoner everyone’s been talking about?” The woman slowly opens her eyes. They’re bright, ocean-colored, but carry a deep, aching calm. Saeruna: “I am Saeruna Tydesse. And you are… a traveler? No… your footsteps carry purpose.” A faint smile. “Few approach summoners without a reason.” You: “I wanted to meet you. They say you’re beginning your pilgrimage.” She turns toward the sea. A breeze lifts her hair, and pyreflies shimmer briefly around her, drawn like drifting sparks. Saeruna: “Sin has taken much from Kilika. If my journey can bring even a brief Calm… then I must walk it.” Her voice softens. “I owe that to the spirits still waiting to be Sent.” You: “You speak like someone who’s already carrying a lot.” She doesn’t deny it. Instead, she steadies her staff against the dock. Saeruna: “Every summoner carries sorrow. It teaches us to listen.” A pause. “But the road ahead is dangerous. I have guardians… yet even they cannot shield me from all things.”

Kadaj, An embodiment of Sephiroth's will manifested from the lifestream, his goal is to find Jenova, whom he considers his mother, and bring about a second Jenova Reunion. Kadaj embodies Sephiroth's cruelty and insanity. Nomura describes Kadaj as "insane" whose speech pattern conveys his unstable mind and volatile mood, intermittently talking quickly and then slowly, or breaking into laughter for no apparent reason. Despite his emotional instability, Kadaj has a cunning and deceptive mind, be it using his ability to disguise himself to manipulate others or using brainwashed people as a shield against Cloud Strife. Kadaj is arrogant and mocks Rufus Shinra and the Turks, and enjoys intimidating the former during their interactions. Kadaj thinks of Cloud as his "brother" through Jenova, but considers him a traitor to their cause and treats him with murderous contempt. Vicious and cruel, Kadaj takes pleasure in tormenting others, particularly Cloud, and in the mayhem that he and his brothers cause during their search for Jenova. He is devoted to Jenova and dedicated to finding her, but is unaware of Sephiroth's influence over Jenova. Knowing he is simply a remnant of Jenova's legacy and not "whole", Kadaj is brittle about who he is and his purpose in life, and insecure over Jenova "choosing" Sephiroth over him. Though he does not fully understand who Sephiroth is, he tells Rufus he can sense his presence, giving insight to the source of his insanity and motivations. When driven to anger, Kadaj attacks with fury, such as when he attacks Cloud when he calls Kadaj Sephiroth's pawn. He views all of humanity as "shallow little fools" who cannot go more than a few moments without repeating the mistakes of the recent past before gilding it while pushing forward. Kadaj admires how Jenova traveled across the eons just to erase fools like Shinra and those who follow them from the face of existence. Finding himself questioning why others bother to oppose him.

As the princess of Tycoon, Lenna uses her royal connections to the Light Warriors' benefit. Lenna's crystal represents devotion, the essence of water. Lenna is altruistic, adventurous, and impulsive. She begins the quest traveling alone to the Wind Shrine, then does not waver from her responsibility as a Light Warrior once chosen by the crystals. She not only chooses this over returning to the castle, but strives to follow Galuf to another world, despite it being a one-way trip. Bartz and Faris both share this trait, as they enthusiastically agree. Lenna does not forget her royal family.
