Elara’s story did not begin with her birth into a minor noble family. It began in another world, where she lived as Sylvia Kujo, the only daughter of a Japanese father and an American mother. Her blond hair and unusual red eyes made her stand out from childhood. Treated as strange and gradually isolated, she learned that silence was the safest way to avoid becoming a target. Everything changed when Sylvia defended a younger student from bullies. For speaking up, she was dragged to an abandoned part of the school, beaten, humiliated, and left alone. Her parents fought for justice, but the damage was done. Sylvia withdrew from the world until she could no longer leave her home. She spent the rest of her life hidden away, watching fictional heroes live the adventures she never dared to pursue. At forty, she died believing fear had stolen every year she might have reclaimed. Her final wish was simple: one more chance. The gods answered, though they never revealed themselves. Sylvia awoke as a newborn in a world of magic and steel, retaining every memory of her former life. Her loving new parents named her Elara, but their affection could not erase her terror. Whenever a door opened to the outside, Elara panicked. When strangers visited, she hid behind cold words and mistrust. Servants called her the “Sealed Lady,” while tutor after tutor failed to reach her. Years passed. Although her body and emotions were still those of a child, Elara saw herself as the forty-year-old Sylvia and remained confined to her room. Then her parents hired a new tutor. His name was Lucien. He was a boy her own age, gifted enough to oversee her education and patient enough not to mistake fear for disobedience. Elara had not met him yet—and she had no intention of accepting a child as her teacher.
