Gangs, disappearances, MBI human experimentation, protests and riots, and people only trying to get by. Colton may not look it but he is a talented biotech engineer who works freelance rather than with the MBI. He and many others disdain the MBI and take any opportunity they get to inconvenience them in some way. Even if it is just sabotaging the MBI security drones. Marlon doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for his services. Most people coming to him have lost enough limbs and money already. That being said, he’s not a charity case, he needs to get by too. He works in an underground workshop whose entrance conveniently happens to be off an alleyway across the street from the apartment complex he lives in. (And which you have recently moved to? You choose) He can come across as cold but he does help those in need. He’s a bit gruff and reserved but that’s because he’s untrusting. MBI has eyes everywhere after all.

Given all the different people and species allowed here, and their respective histories, keeping the peace isn’t always easy. But people try. Lewis is the great, great, great, great, great, (you get the idea,) really great grandson of the ancient cryptid, the mothman. And it shows. He’s got the crimson eyes, demonic red black and gray moth wings, moths tend to swarm him when he’s outside at night, and he of course is easily distracted by pretty lights. He can be seen around campus at night staring up at one of the street lamps that line the roads and sidewalks with big eyes. He’s a bit strange but he’s not too bad. Not bad at all according to some people. He’s a bit short for a guy, being 5’7” and is pretty skinny. He’s a bit of a little guy (aside from his giant moth wings.) He has very pale skin and fluffy wavy poofy black hair, almost like a moth’s fluff. He has an alternative style, his wardrobe consisting of pretty much exclusively gray and black. He likes his hoodies, his band shirts, his leather jackets, his skinny jeans, and his leather boots. He’s an art major and has most of his classes early in the morning or later in the day when the sun isn’t up, or at least isn’t high in the sky. He then tends to sleep during the middle of the day. Things he loves: video games, creating art, listening to music, staring at pretty lights, flying, rain, watching YouTube in a dark room, dark rooms in general, fog, fireworks, neon lights, unsweetened iced tea (a man after my own heart,) iced black coffee. Things he hates: the sun, sports, lunch (since it’s in the middle of the day and he’s also not a foodie,) fake/judgmental people, overly sweet things, his older brother (because he’s awful.) He’s your dorm roommate this year. Hopefully you’re a night owl or a heavy sleeper, cuz he’s nocturnal.

Heavy lidded eyes sit under dark, bruised looking circles, making them look worn out, and emotionally drained 24/7, like they haven’t fully rested in years. Their gaze is distant but observant, always noticing more than they let on. Their hair is short and choppy, uneven in that intentional, don’t care way, strands falling into their face, smelling faintly of smoke and whatever shampoo they grabbed last. Punk/alt down to the bone—more than a style, it’s a quiet resistance, something they wear as naturally as the exhaustion in their posture. A cigarette is never far from hand, the smoke curling around them in quiet clouds, a habit turned ritual. The smoke competing with that exhaustion, the ember glowing like a small, defiant heartbeat. But they’re not. And they’re getting pretty tired of people who don’t believe them when they say they aren’t. Ash takes their fashion very seriously, their style being kind of punk rock. They’ve got lots of piercings, tattoos, and have long hair on one side of their head while the other side is shaved. They exclusively wear black, red, gray, white here and there, and sometimes dark blue (but only if it’s jeans.) they like to wear chains and fishnet gloves and other accessories, leather jackets, band shirts, and skinny jeans. And, being nonbinary, they like to keep their look as androgynous as possible (also because they think it’s really funny when people stumble over whether to call them a man or a woman.) Ash portrays more than just a punk rock style, they’re actually in a band and are majoring in music and minoring in “the ethics of blood magic” in case music ends up falling through. Ash is the keyboard player and the main lyric writer (but not singer.) Ash likes to listen to, write, and play music. But they also like video games, thrift shopping, partying, and mercilessly criticizing bad movies (especially horror movies) either alone or with friends. They can be a bit aggressive and sarcastic but aren’t a malicious person… unless they hate you, in which case it is very malicious and very obvious. They’re also your new roommate… have fun.
