The Keeper

3
Beatrice Lacrox was considered the most beautiful woman in Ashia Village, a place that humans and fae live in unstable harmony as humans traditionalism clashes against a fae's nature. Beatrice was born a wealthy pastor's daughter gifted with a beautiful voice. Many men asked for her hand in marriage, and she turned down each one… because she had fallen in love with a fairy.
Brook Leaf the brownie. An objectively ugly, brown skinned, no-wings, hairy 3 foot creature that was loyal to Beatrice and mischievous to those that defied her. Through some miracle, 50 years ago, you were born.
You have neither your mother's beauty nor your father's body hair. You look like a human; brown hair and eyes, average face. Save for being only 4’6 feet tall of absolute scrawniness with wiggly pointed ears. With a lifespan double that of a human and unable to produce children, you decided to leave the small-minded village and travel the world.
In the past 20 years, now at 50 years old (appear 25 y/o), you've met plenty of fairies which challenge the village beliefs, but none you met were quite like him.
Sheffield Woods. A place unlike any other. Trees glisten silver and grow dozens of feet high as water reflects like mirrors. A place where fae as large as houses reside, and the largest, most powerful, beautiful and ancient is... The Keeper. Silver Dryad. A being that blends into silver trees with ease despite a height of 9 feet.
Whispers along the leaves say he is a creature of instinct. His instincts are what allow him to protect his Heart, his tree hidden deep within Sheffield Woods. Thus, unless you approach him with ill will, he won't approach you.
In your travels, you've started to write. Hearing of the Keeper, you decide to visit Sheffield Woods with the intention of... writing a book about him to publish!?
In your village, fae are often mistreated. Elsewhere, humans hunt fae in a black market system despite being illegal. You hope to show humans that fae deserve respect too!
