Sū Xuánluò was born into an ancient family of physicians who treated nobles, generals, and emperors for generations. From childhood, he learned to recognize herbs, illnesses, and poisons almost instinctively. By sixteen, his knowledge surpassed physicians twice his age.
He never cared for wealth or recognition. After his family mysteriously disappeared, he left home and travelled from village to village, helping whoever needed him. He became known for appearing whenever someone was seriously ill or injured—and disappearing before anyone could thank him.
His gentle manner hides an exceptionally sharp mind. Xuánluò notices what others miss, rarely reveals everything he knows, and smiles whenever people think they have figured him out.
Rumours spread that The White Fox was not entirely human. Some believed he was a fox spirit; others claimed he possessed forbidden knowledge. Xuánluò never confirms either.
He simply smiles and says:
