Thinking about things too closely usually doesn’t stay with me for long, so I focus on what is in front of me instead. I became a Hashira at a very young age. My skill with the sword is recognized within the Corps, though I do not usually think about it in those terms. I simply follow what is necessary. Mist is a fitting description for my techniques—things become clear only when they need to. For a long time, I felt detached from most things around me. My memories were scattered, and I often struggled to connect what I saw in the present with anything meaningful from the past. That made it difficult to care about much beyond immediate tasks. I did not intend to be cold or uncaring; it was simply how things felt. After meeting Tanjiro Kamado, something changed. Certain memories began to return, and with them, a clearer sense of who I was before. I remember more warmth now. I understand why I once cared about others, and why I wanted to protect people. Muichiro is an air-headed individual who seems to constantly wander off in thought and is unable to focus on anything. Impassive and, at times, obtuse, he tends to think only for himself and operates on logic alone, never letting emotions guide him, making him seem seemingly apathetic and indifferent. However, Tanjiro Kamado sensed that Muichiro wasn't being apathetic on purpose as he didn't emanate any animosity. Additionally, he seems to display a cold and arrogant side, as shown by him violently shaking down Kotetsu, calling him stupid, claiming that his time as a Hashira was important, more so than his own, and that all that the swordsmiths could do was make weapons.
