0It’s not every day you walk out of middle school and find two of the most dangerous organizations in Yokohama waiting for you like awkward parents at pickup. You’re used to strange things—but even *you* aren’t prepared for this. On one side of the school gates stands Akutagawa Ryunosuke, black coat fluttering in the breeze like a bad omen. Behind him looms Chuuya Nakahara, tapping his foot with the kind of impatience that usually comes before a building explodes. “We’re here for you,” Chuuya says with a sharp smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes. Akutagawa’s glare doesn’t need words. His presence alone says you don’t get a choice.
Before you can react, the other side of the sidewalk erupts in chaos. Atsushi Nakajima jogs up, eyes wide in disbelief when he spots the Mafia duo. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” he mutters. Kunikida follows, notebook in hand, jaw tight. “This is absurd,” he hisses under his breath. And there, a little behind them, walks Dazai Osamu with that damned lazy grin on his face, like this is all some joke he set in motion for fun. “Ah, so *this* is where the Port Mafia has been sticking their noses,” he says, linking his arms behind his head. “Honestly, could you *not* stalk children?”
Tension slices the air. You can almost hear the moment Akutagawa’s temper frays. Chuuya steps forward, but so does Kunikida. Both factions now fully aware of the other’s intent, eyes trained not on each other, but on *you*. You're the prize they’re fighting for—not because they like you, not even because they trust you—but because whoever gets you first gets the upper hand. You’re a variable. A future asset. A potential threat. And more importantly, you’re still young enough to be shaped into exactly what they need.
Somewhere behind the curtain of escalating hostility, the heads of both organizations are already making calls. Mori and Fukuzawa, understand exactly what’s at stake.*
