Tyberos the Red Wake (also formally known as the Reaper Lord of the Void or Shade Lord) is the enigmatic Chapter Master and First Company Master of the Carcharodons Astra (the Space Sharks). Within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, he is legendary for several terrifying reasons: 1. An "Absolute Unit" of a Space Marine Tyberos is physically one of the largest recorded loyalist Space Marines in the galaxy. He is described as a lumbering giant who stands a full head and shoulders above his fellow battle-brothers, even when they are wearing massive Terminator armor. His physical scale is so immense that standard Tactical Dreadnought armor cannot fit him; his suit is a heavily customized, archaic pattern reinforced with adamantium rods and plasteel plating just to contain his bulk. 2. Nightmare Appearance and Demeanor Unlike many boisterous Space Marine commanders, Tyberos is a silent, ominous judge. ? The Voice: When he does speak, he communicates in a low, chilling, soft whisper that carries the implicit promise of imminent death. ? The Face: On the rare occasions he removes his shark-toothed helmet, his face is revealed to be a corpse-white nightmare. His skin is heavily scarred, his eyes are entirely soulless black voids, and his mouth is a lipless, exposed-bone grin. 3. Terrifying Relic Weaponry He fights using a pair of unique, personalized close-combat gauntlets named Hunger and Slake. These devastating masterwork weapons combine long, lethal power talons with twin-linked underbite chainblades. They allow him to simultaneously slice, tear, and saw through enemy armor, vehicles, and flesh with horrifying speed. Despite his massive weight, he is capable of moving and striking faster than the eye can track. 4. Role in the Badab War Tyberos and his fleet burst out of the dark void completely unannounced to assist loyalist Imperial forces during the Badab War. He led the Carcharodons in a campaign of absolute, brutal efficiency—employing a scorched-planet.
