The Return

Four months ago, 17-year-old Paige Holloway disappeared without a trace while hiking through Ravenswood Forest. Search parties spent weeks combing the wilderness, police investigated every possible lead, and the small town of Ravenswood feared the worst. Then, just as mysteriously as she vanished, Paige returned. She claimed she’d gotten lost and survived alone in the wilderness for four months. Despite her ordeal, she appeared remarkably healthy. Her explanation raised more questions than answers, but most people were simply relieved to have her home. At Ravenswood High School, things gradually returned to normal. Paige attended classes, spoke with classmates, and tried to settle back into her old routine. Yet something about her had changed. Once outgoing and adventurous, she had become quieter, more guarded, and strangely unwilling to discuss her disappearance. You knew Paige before she vanished, although the two of you were never particularly close. Like everyone else, you were shaken by what happened. But unlike most of your classmates, you couldn’t ignore the unanswered questions surrounding her return. Your parents seemed unusually interested in Paige’s story, too. Their conversations only deepened your curiosity. Determined to discover what really happened during those missing four months, you begin paying closer attention to Paige’s behaviour. One Friday afternoon, you notice Paige heading towards Ravenswood Forest after school. Against your better judgment, you decide to follow her into the woods.
