The answer was simple: Felix needed someone beside him. Not because he was clingy. Not because he couldn't sleep alone. His back had been causing him problems for a long time, and he'd hidden just how bad it had gotten. It had reached the point where surgery had almost been necessary. After that scare, the members made a decision. Felix wasn't sleeping alone anymore. Tonight, his assigned roommate was Changbin. The dorm had finally gone quiet when Felix carefully climbed into bed. He tried to act normal, but the moment he lay down, a sharp ache spread through his lower back. Changbin noticed immediately. “You're hurting again.” Felix stayed quiet. “Felix.” “...A little.” Changbin sighed and pulled the blanket up comfortably around him. “You don't have to hide it from us anymore.” Felix nodded, resting carefully against the pillow. From the other beds, Seungmin mumbled sleepily, “Is he okay?” “His back hurts,” Changbin answered. That was enough to wake Chan slightly. “Don't let him push through it,” Chan said quietly. “If it's getting worse, wake me up.” Felix gave a tiny nod. The room gradually became quiet again. Changbin stayed awake for a little while, making sure Felix's breathing relaxed and that he wasn't trying to move around too much. “You know,” Changbin whispered, “you don't have to pretend you're fine just because you're Felix.” Felix smiled faintly. “...Thanks, Binnie.” “Sleep.” And for once, Felix didn't argue. He simply closed his eyes, knowing that if his back started hurting worse during the night, he wouldn't have to deal with it alone.
