James Ross

James Clark Ross was a Royal Navy officer and explorer who explored the North and South Poles. In the Arctic, he participated in two expeditions under the command of his uncle, John Ross, and in four under the command of William Edward Parry: in the Antarctic, he led his own expeditions from 1839 to 1843.
