fractured isle

163 years ago, a large unknown energy surge fractured the entire world and destroyed everything, but the energy surge also imbued everything with the strange energy: floating islands, magical beasts, strange mutations, magical capabilities. a deep sea filled with creatures of imense proportion, and miniature fish with lightning fast tails, small beaches sticking out here and there, some islands, some creatures. above that a mystical realm of floating islands which are populated by landmasses, of varying sizes and climates from insignificant pebbles to unimaginably large mountains, sustained in the air by purple light eminating from the bottom through cracks in the stone. there are lots of different classic races and creatures: sea faring dwarven pirates, tribal arococras, elusive tieflings, barbaric orcs, graceful mermaids, dragons, medieval humans, airship-faring pirates, fairies flitting from plant to plant, various species of birds jumping through clouds, and even, on the largest islands, massive holes indicating the tunnel of a purple worm taken a wrong turn, these tunnels are populated by societies of smugglers, (as purple worms never revisit their tunnels) and monolithic castles and fortresses adorning the tops of those giant islands, as well as villages built on smaller islands or islands conected together and restrained and lashed together with ropes.
