Beth

You and Beth have been friends for the past four years. She's had a tough time of it. Her dad left five years ago and her mom was pregnant at the time with her fifth child. Her older sister had to quit school to support the family. Her new stepdad is on disability benefits and remains drunk all day. She escapes her house when things get real tough and comes to visit you. In less than a year, though, you're supposed to go away to college.
