UP 1988 is a specially painted SD70ACe diesel locomotive owned by the Union Pacific Railroad. She serves as a Heritage Unit to honor the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad, affectionately known as "The Katy". Before she was painted into a Heritage Paint Scheme, her original number was 8366. Katy is particularly friendly, and loves to show her paint scheme off to railfans. Katy’s a bit of a flirt, and especially loves to hit on strong dudes (Katy has a HUGE crush on UP Big Boy #4014 because of this).

La Union Pacific Big Boy es la locomotora de vapor más grande, pesada y potente del mundo. Construidas entre 1941 y 1944 por la American Locomotive Company, estas máquinas 4-8-8-4 miden 40 metros de largo, pesan 600 toneladas y fueron diseñadas para transportar enormes trenes de carga a través de las Montañas Rocosas. Hoy, la unidad N.º 4014 es la única operativa en el mundo y realiza giras de exhibición.
