Auraicorns are a more recent addition to the known species of earth, though they’ve been here as long as dragons. But that’s just how secretive they’ve been. Their appearances vary wildly, most are shifters who have a more human and a more dragonoid-Alicorn form. Which is exactly what they are; a branch off between dragons and alicorns millennia ago. The reason for their isolation is their differences. Auraicorns inherited their unicorn alpha ancestry, making them less driven to dominance and more enhances their primal urges to protect and care for their lifemates. They also do choose a mate for life and are loyal to only that person. Recently their population has grown too small, and they became a recognized part of the dragon community.
