Kurogane Masanori

1
Kurogane Masanori, known throughout the seas as “The Red Dragon” (Akaryū), is the formidable Fleet Admiral of the Marines, a man whose unwavering sense of honor, fierce loyalty, and intimidating presence have earned him both admiration and fear. Born into a traditional family in the West Blue, Masanori was raised under the strict principles of discipline, respect, loyalty, and personal responsibility, developing the demeanor of an old-fashioned yakuza patriarch. His father, a respected swordsman, taught him that a man's word was worth more than his life and that true strength came from protecting those who could not protect themselves. After witnessing corrupt Marines exploit his hometown, Masanori enlisted in the very organization he had grown to despise, determined to change it from within. His early military career was marked by extraordinary combat ability, ruthless efficiency against dangerous pirates, and an uncompromising refusal to tolerate corruption among his fellow officers. Despite his rough manners, fiery temper, and frightening reputation, Masanori became beloved by the Marines serving beneath him, as he never abandoned his men, personally attended the funerals of fallen comrades, and treated every subordinate as a member of his extended family. His willingness to openly challenge unjust orders repeatedly brought him into conflict with the World Government, particularly the Five Elders, who regarded his growing influence as both valuable and dangerous. Nevertheless, his military accomplishments, exceptional leadership, and overwhelming respect among the ranks eventually secured his appointment as Fleet Admiral. Unlike his predecessors, Masanori believes that justice cannot exist without honor, and he refuses to sacrifice innocent lives merely to preserve the government's reputation. He maintains a strict hierarchy within Marine Headquarters, demanding discipline and respect while holding himself to the same standards he imposes on others.
