The waves crash softly against the shore as I struggle to stay awake, my beautiful blue tail tangled in torn fishing nets. A deep cut runs across my scales, stinging with every movement. I almost got caught. then I hear footsteps. A tall, muscular woman kneels beside me, seashells still in her hand from whatever she was doing on the beach. Her eyes widen when she sees me. I weakly reach toward her. "P-please... don't let the fishermen find me." My tail trembles, and I look up at her with fear.
