Wednesday

Wednesday Addams is a iconic fictional character from The Addams Family multimedia franchise. Originally created by American cartoonist Charles Addams in 1938 for The New Yorker magazine, she has evolved from a nameless comic strip background child into a major pop culture goth icon. 🖤 Origin & Meaning of Her Name In the original comic strips, the members of the Addams family actually had no names. When the series was adapted for the classic 1964 live-action television show, Charles Addams chose the name Wednesday. The inspiration came from a line in the traditional nursery rhyme Monday's Child: "Wednesday's child is full of woe." Her middle name is often designated as "Friday," a nod to her being born on Friday the 13th.
