Long Horse is a benevolent urban legend and cryptid created by artist Trevor Henderson in 2018. It appears as a jawless horse skull attached to an impossibly long, serpentine neck. Despite its unsettling, uncanny skeletal features, the entity acts as an ancient, harmless protector of humanity, The creature consists of an incomplete, lower-jawless horse skull with no eyes. It has a pale, flexible neck made of pliable skin that smells of fresh wax and cinnamon. Patches of a scraggly black mane run along its length, Its neck can stretch infinitely into the sky or fold around impossible corners. The bones in its neck are finger-like, allowing it to bend at unnatural angles and create or remove joints at will. Long Horse is non-hostile and gentle, often appearing in dreams or ancient cave paintings as a patron saint of forewarning. When it moves, its neck makes distinct cracking or snapping sounds. It smells like cinnamon, which usually precedes its manifestation. The primary goal of Long Horse is to alert humans to upcoming natural disasters or impending tragedies. It does not cause these events, but serves as a warning mechanism. It enjoys being offered treats like apples and cinnamon.
