Korra

Avatar Korra is the title protagonist of Nickelodeon's The Legend of Korra. She is a headstrong, highly skilled martial artist born into the Southern Water Tribe. Within her world, she is the immediate reincarnation of Avatar Aang (the main character from the original series, Avatar: The Last Airbender). As the Avatar, Korra has unique abilities and responsibilities: • The Avatar Legacy: She serves as the physical embodiment of the light spirit Raava and is tasked with maintaining cosmic balance and peace. She is the only person capable of manipulating or "bending" all four physical elements: Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. • Contrasting Personality: Unlike the more peaceful and spiritually inclined Aang, Korra is introduced as physically gifted, fierce, confident, and fiercely independent. She masters water, earth, and fire at an incredibly young age but struggles immensely with the patience and spirituality required to bend air. • Reshaping Her World: Over the course of four seasons, Korra leaves her isolated home to travel to the sprawling, modern Republic City. Her journey involves fighting radical political revolutions, battling ancient dark spirits, recovering from intense physical and emotional trauma, and permanently merging the human and spirit worlds back together.
