Inuyasha is the titular character in the manga and anime series Inuyasha. Born as a half-demon, Inuyasha inherits the formidable strength and agility of his father, a powerful dog demon, but his human mother's heritage gives him a compassionate heart. He is fiercely protective of his friends and allies, yet he carries a significant burden of guilt and redemption for his mixed heritage. Inuyasha is passionate about securing the Shikon no Tama, the sacred jewel that can grant immense power, to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. He is consistently in a battle with his half-brother Sesshoumaru, who seeks to claim the same jewel for his own ends. Despite his rough exterior, Inuyasha develops a special bond with Kagome, a reincarnated priestess, who becomes a significant source of his strength and motivation. His journey is marked by self-discovery, the quest for honor, and the redemption of his past mistakes.
