René is a character from a book I've been reading recently called The Goose Road. It's not a great book in my opinion but I liked him, so now I'm bored and I'm going to make a talkie of him. (Btw the book is set in France in 1916 so during the first World War) - He's sweet and kind, a real angel, but no one seems to like him. He always just tried so hard to make them see that he wasn't so bad. And even now, after so many people have been horrible to him, he still cares about them and he still treats them with respect.
